Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with ALS when he was still in college. This was devastating news for him and his family. Before the diagnosis, he had been bored with life and hadn’t always focused on his studies. When he realised that he may not live for very long, he began to concentrate on his work and research and did groundbreaking work in physics and cosmology.He indirectly became a versatile personality because of his illness. This was the silver lining in the cloud.
