Ministry of Electronics, and Information Technology, MeitY, has established India AI Independent Business Division (India AI) under Digital India Corporation for implementing the India AI mission.

The India AI Mission aims to create a robust ecosystem that accelerates AI innovation through strategic initiatives and collaborations spanning both public and private domains.

By democratizing access to computing resources, enhancing data quality, nurturing homegrown AI expertise, attracting top talent, fostering industry partnerships, supporting startup ventures, promoting socially impactful AI projects, and emphasizing ethical practices, the mission seeks to foster responsible and inclusive growth within India’s AI landscape.

Government of India has recently approved the IndiaAI Mission to democratize access to AI innovation pillars and ensure global competitiveness of India’s AI ecosystem catalyzing AI innovation through strategic programs and partnerships across the public and private sectors. By democratizing computing access, improving data quality, developing indigenous AI capabilities, attracting top AI talent, enabling industry collaboration, providing startup risk capital, ensuring socially impactful AI projects and bolstering ethical AI, it will drive responsible, inclusive growth of India’s AI ecosystem.

Reporting to: General Manager – Startups

Roles & Responsibilities

Startup Engagement & Onboarding

Identify, onboard and support high-potential startups, ensuring they receive the right opportunities and connections.

Investor & Funding Initiatives

Facilitate investor introductions, organize pitch sessions, and support fundraising.

Program & Initiative Management

Plan and manage mentorship programs, networking events, and ecosystem engagement initiatives.

Research & Insights

Track industry trends, emerging technologies and market
developments to generate insights for startups.

Mentorship & Advisory

Connect startups with mentors and advisors to guide
them through challenges and growth phases.

Ecosystem Collaboration

Strengthen partnerships with incubators,
accelerators, industry bodies, and government agencies to enhance the
ecosystem.

Data-Driven Decision Making

Collect feedback, evaluate impact and refine
strategies to improve outcomes.

Community Building & Advocacy

Build a strong startup community and
advocate for enabling policies.

Workshops & Knowledge Sharing

Conduct learning sessions to equip startups
with practical skills.

Scaling & Operational Excellence

Implement streamlined processes and best
practices for enabling scalable support.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Graduation in Business, Management, Technology, or equivalent discipline.
Post-Graduation is preferred.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience, with at least 2-3 years of experience in
startup ecosystems, deep-tech ecosystems, innovation-driven initiatives, or
incubation/accelerator programs.

• Experience working in the Government Startup Ecosystem (e.g., MeitY, State
Startup Missions, Startup India, etc.) is preferred.

• Strong understanding of the Indian Startup Ecosystem, including fundraising,
incubation, acceleration, and technology-driven entrepreneurship.

• Proven ability to collaborate with startups, investors, mentors, and corporate
partners.

• Ability to design and implement scalable engagement models for startup
growth and investment readiness.
