In Pune, my hometown, I, Priyanka, a determined class 10th student, aspired to become a renowned wildlife conservationist and establish my conservation organization. Amongst a sea of classmates engrossed in video games, nature was my haven.
During the summer break, I volunteered at a wildlife sanctuary, learning from dedicated conservationists and catching the attention of respected wildlife biologist Dr. Kapoor. His offer to assist in researching endangered Western Ghats species set the stage for an extraordinary journey.
A year later, news reached me about a Conference dedicated to funding projects by emerging wildlife conservationists. Balancing rigorous studies and immersive fieldwork, I painstakingly recorded unique plant species, conducted thorough data analysis, and uncovered valuable insights. On the day of my presentation, the exhilaration was palpable. Presenting my discoveries at the conservation conference, I experienced a rush of excitement as Dr. Kapoor’s praise validated the challenges I’d conquered. The Board, along with Dr. Kapoor, impressed by my dedication, proposed funding for my conservation dream. It was a dream come true for an ordinary child like me.
